CHALLENGE

  • 16,000 L of hydraulic oil across critical plant systems
  • Sludge, varnish, contamination and water build-up
  • NAS value needed to stay within acceptable limits
SOLUTION

  • Klarol 100 LPM and 150 LPM filtration & dehydration machines
  • Targeted removal of contaminants and water
  • Professional installation and commissioning by Klarol
RESULTS

  • Sludge, varnish, contamination and water successfully removed
  • NAS value maintained within acceptable limits
  • Smooth running of critical, high-value plant equipment

The Company

This company, part of a Great Place to Work®–certified integrated metals producer, operates a major steel plant at its Jamuria Unit in West Bengal. The plant runs an array of critical, high-value systems whose smooth operation depends on the condition of their hydraulic oil.

The Challenge

The Jamuria Unit engaged Klarol to filter and dehydrate 16,000 litres of hydraulic oil supporting the smooth running of some of its most critical equipment — an 11.5 MW Axial Blower, TRT, PCM, PCI, Hot Blast Stoves, GCP, Sinter Machine and Annular Cooler, among others.

In systems of this scale and value, hydraulic oil accumulates sludge, varnish, contamination and water over time. Left unchecked, these push the oil’s NAS cleanliness value out of specification — risking component wear, unplanned downtime, and damage to equipment the plant cannot afford to lose.

The Solution

Two machines, matched to the job

The company deployed two Klarol systems manufactured at Klarol’s plant in Sitarganj, Uttarakhand: a Klarol Oil Filtration & Dehydration Machine at 100 LPM and a second at 150 LPM.

Together they target exactly the contaminants that degrade large hydraulic reservoirs removing sludge, varnish, particulate contamination and water to bring and hold the oil within acceptable NAS limits.

Professionalism through installation and commissioning

The Results

Klarol’s efforts yielded good results successfully removing sludge, varnish, contamination and water, and maintaining the NAS value of the hydraulic oil within acceptable limits.

The company reports it is satisfied with the professionalism and work quality displayed by the Klarol team and their equipment, and confidently recommends Klarol’s services to others.
